The end of a dream.
Played football my whole life and had NFL dreams. But after college my football career came to an end… I had to give up on the dream and get a "real job."
The young rockstar teacher.
I had a Master's in education, so I started teaching in Newark, NJ at their top high school. I was a young rockstar teacher, full of energy, I even had the governor of NJ and the mayor of Newark come watch me teach a new class. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.
Best decision I ever made.
After dating my girlfriend for 5 years in college, I studied Proverbs 31 and realized I had a wife. I never had intentions on marrying young, but God's word convicted me. Truly I don't even think she was ready, but I knew what God said. Best decision I ever made.
Faith stopped being talk.
My faith stopped being something I talked about and started being something I lived. Discipline became worship. Training my body mattered. Leading my home mattered. Reading the word mattered. I changed inward and the outer world responded, things were going very good.
The leap of faith.
Then… an email, then a call to the main office. My principal told me to follow the curriculum or get lost. She thought my teaching was too raw, too authentic, too controversial. At the same time I started feeling deep down God had more for me. So I left mid-year and became a full-time entrepreneur. 2nd best decision I ever made.
Hit the phones. Hard.
Knew I had to make money fast, so I did what most wouldn't: cold calls. I hit the phones hard, 4 hours a day, every day. Through hard work and consistency I quickly built a strong pipeline and made six figures in my 1st year.
Built a team. Tripled the business.
It worked so well I generated too much business and couldn't handle it. I started dropping the ball, missing meetings, forgetting deadlines. I almost quit… Until I built a team to take care of the work that drains me, so I could focus on what moves me. Our system worked, and I went from +$100K in revenue in my 1st year to +$300K in my 2nd year.
Still figuring it out.
I don't have all the answers. I'm still figuring life out. What I do know is where the answers are, with God. I'm here to document what consistency, structure, and faith look like in real time. If you're still here, it's probably because you feel God calling you to do more.
To help people who feel called to more than a paycheck build the faith, discipline, and structure to go all in on their business. To remind people they're not crazy for wanting more than comfort, and they're not alone in taking steps of faith.
